Handling & Transportation of Jams and Skulls

CONVENTIONAL PRACTICE

MLPL is executing the job of Shifting (Handling and Transportation) of Jams, Skulls etc. from LD shops to MR & SPP and other designated areas.


The Process Involves

  • Loading the items onto trucks and trailers by Coles, P&H and Suku Cranes deployed by MLPL.
  • Transportation and weighing of the items.
  • Unloading the items with similar cranes at the designated unloading points.

Shifting of the scrap necessitates

  • Engagement of several cranes, etc., using slings in addition to appointing large number of manual labors at various designated loading points.
  • Transportation and weighing of the items by several trucks and trailers deployed.
  • Engagement of several cranes, etc., using slings in addition to appointing large number of manual labors at various designated unloading points.


MLPL RECOMMENDED PRACTICE

For upgrading the present practice, client may consider deployment of new specially designed Self-Unloading Trailers along with other suitable Balancing equipment as appropriate. The Self-Unloading Trailer may be loaded by suitable cranes at the generating points. Weighing, Transportation and unloading of the items at designated points can be carried out. Large sized Jams may be reduced in size for better handling management.
