MLPL collects all scrap generated internally by the steel plant and transports them to designated places, intermediate yards, L.D. scrap yards.
Types of Scrap handled includes:
- HSM Crops, Cobbles, Ends & Samples
- HBM exit and entry materials
- Merchant Mill material
- WRM Material
- LD concast billet scraps and Steel Skulls
Collection Methodology
Fully mechanized methodology is developed based on client needs.
Processing of the Scrap
- All scrap are processed to the plant defined sizes and delivered as required.
- Processing includes:
- In-situ coil laps trimmings
- In-situ cobbles from HSM and Merchant Mill
- Fume controlled oxy-cutting of slag pot buttons in situ to sizes suitable
for loading
- Fume controlled oxy-cutting of SMS heavy scrap to sizes suitable
for loading
Processing Methodology
- Cobbles and slab crop ends are processed in-situ with free issue of oxygen & fuel gas by the client.
- Scrap material is loaded, transported to the yard, and tipped at designated location.
- Over sized material is transported to intermediate processing yard for processing.
- Processed scrap is transported to scrap yard and tipped at designated location.
- All unprocessed and processed scrap are weighed for recording purpose.
Equipment, Facilities and Labour
- MLPL supplies, operates and maintains the deployed equipment.
- MLPL Provides support facility that are fully operated and maintained by it to render the service located within it's working area on site.
- MLPL employs necessary labour with appropriate PPE's.
